This time you are heading a little further back in time to the 1500s to the coasts of Atlantic North America.
The fur trade started with fish...crazy but true...
I need you to go back to the early years of Europeans in North America (1500-1603) and tell me what it was all about.
Don't forget to include:
- why did the trade begin with fish?
- what did the First Nations get out of the early trade? why would they want such things?
- what did the Europeans get out of the early trading?
- interview a First Nations trader for his impressions of what he foresees happening in the future of his land
- ideas for questions might include:
- how do you see your life changing?
- how has the European technology changed your lives?
- are you scared or nervous about the future?
- what were you first impressions of the Europeans?
- who is coming out ahead in your trades?
Please report back no later than December 15.
