Time for another task and another trip back through time to the period of 1603-1760.
This time you will need to tell me how the fur trade developed in New France and how it was affected by the British creation of the Hudson Bay Company.
From our records it seems that the two fur trades developed different strategies in order to gather the furs. Make sure to briefly describe each one including their relationships with the First Nations with which they traded.
Don't forget to include:
- a brief description of the conflict between the French and First Nations
- a list of which First Nations were allied and trading with which European country
- answer why the fur trade moved further and further west?
- explain what a middleman is and how they affected the fur trade
- why did the French fur trade come to an abrupt end in 1760?
- show me some examples of what the Hudson Bay company outpost might look like
Please also include a map that show where each fur trading group operated.
